Our Paradise Island

Croatia is known as the Land of 1000 Islands, of Antiquity, of Magic, and of Crystal Clear Waters. And no better time and place to rejuvenate your soul than at a private cottage graced with supreme spirit on dreamy Hvar, the Island of the Sun.

Vis Island charms everyone with its beautiful beaches, beautiful waters, 17th-century architecture and great seafood restaurants, all of which we’ll get to explore. We’ll take a 2 hour ferry from Split and after a series of small islands, a harbor lined with a jagged mouth of creamy white houses emerges. We’ll stay on the hilltop overlooking Vis Town, which we can walk into anytime. If you’ve seen Mamma Mia 2, this is where they filmed it!

Our Croatian Home

Our hilltop accommodations are located in and overlook Vis Town – rich in history and architecture. The gorgeous villa has panoramic views of the sea, a swimming pool, open terraces, places to chill, open dining area with views, wifi, and includes 4 twin rooms + 2 single/double rooms with en-suite bathrooms and air con.

Meals included consist of veg/vegan raw and plant-based food buffet brunches and dinners, prepared fresh with love using locally produced ingredients. As Vis produces some of Croatia’s best known wines, we’ll have an evening under the stars to indulge on some local wine paired with delicious local cheese, olives, figs, chocolates, and more. Coffee, tea, snacks and nibbles provided daily, and you have the option to try out restaurants, seafood, and cafes as we explore the island each day.

Yoga on Land & Water

Standup Paddleboard Yoga is accessible to everyone. It’s a fun way to practice using your core and balance while we adventure on water. Having been certified to teach SUP Yoga, Cynthia will guide us all into fun yoga flows and poses, adding a whole new fun element of the yoga practice we think you’ll love. Feel free to take it where you want, and it’s an opportunity to let go of being perfect. The worst that could happen is that you fall into the refreshingly crystal clear waters!

Our late afternoon/evening yoga on the open air terraces will be more of a slow flow yoga practice – yin, restorative, blindfold, etc yoga with some facilitated journaling time afterwards & before dinnertime. Here, we’ll be guided deeper into self inquiry, dreaming up more magic in our lives, and just live in the present moment. Get ready to rediscover who you are and redefine what it means to be alive.

A Typical Day

  • 8.00: Morning SUP Yoga & Meditation on Water 
  • 10.30: Brunch
  • 11:30: Optional Abundance mindset workshop every other day
  • 12.30: Daily afternoon optional island exploration – different beaches, cultural towns, free time
  • 17.00: Return to villa if on island excursion 
  • 17.30: Yin/slow flow Yoga on open air terrace + journaling
  • 19.30: Dinner
  • 20.30: Evening activities on selected nights (wine & cheese, movie night, new moon circle, etc)

A Yogi on a Mission

Cynthia is on a mission to empower people to become who they truly are. She sees yoga, traveling, and yoga adventure retreats as transformative tools to re-connect to ourselves and step into the person we’ve always known we can be. Her passion is creating experimental events and journeys through senses, breath, movement, environment, music while building conscious strong communities.

Cynthia’s received 4 yoga certifications in Bali – 200hr Vinyasa Yoga and 20hr Standup Paddleboard Yoga in 2015, 85hr Pre/Postnatal Vinyasa Yoga in 2017, and 200hr Shamanic Yoga & Restorative Yoga in 2018. She can be found traveling anywhere from 10-18 countries a year, and further has instructed over 100+ outdoor yoga classes (about one-third!) across 14 countries & 7 continents, if you count the class on the ship deck returning back from Antarctica!

While born and raised in Chicago and traveling 70 countries across 7 continents, Cynthia (also @cynthiatravels) began crafting yoga retreats in the way she likes to travel – through adventure, community, discovering new limits, and giving back. She’s driven by a desire to discover what magic happens when we live with wild abandon, give without expectation, and love without fear.

Thanks to Facebook I accidentally stumbled upon Cynthia Wong being a Yoga instructor in Malaysia. I spend six weeks in Malaysia last year and went to one of her Yoga in the Park classes.
